🎄 Christmas Bunting Workshop – Make Your Own Festive Bunting
Get into the festive spirit and create something handmade to decorate your home this Christmas! Join us for our Christmas Bunting Workshop Tuesday 13th October and make your own festive decorations.
Join us for a relaxed and friendly 3-hour Christmas Bunting Workshop, where you’ll learn how to make your very own 3-metre length of festive fabric bunting to take home and enjoy year after year.
This workshop is suitable for beginners with very basic knowledge of using a sewing machine as well as those who already have some sewing experience. You’ll be guided through the process step by step, with plenty of help and support available throughout the session.
🎄 About This Bunting Workshop
During this hands-on sewing workshop, you’ll create 3 metres of reusable Christmas bunting, ( you can make more if you get time ) using festive fabrics of your choice.
You can choose one Christmas fabric for a coordinated look or mix different patterns and designs to create something completely unique.
This is a lovely introduction to machine sewing for beginners and a great festive project for more experienced stitchers who simply want to enjoy a relaxed few hours of crafting and socialising.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own handmade festive bunting ready to hang at home or give as a special handmade gift.
🧵 What You will Learn
During the workshop, you will learn how to:
- Prepare and cut your fabric for bunting.
- Use a sewing machine to construct your bunting.
- Sew and assemble individual bunting flags.
- Add backing fabric for a neat finish. ( or double up your flags )
- Attach your bunting to tape.
- Build confidence using a sewing machine.
- Complete approximately 3 metres of Christmas bunting to take home. ( you can make more if you have time )
No previous sewing machine experience is required.

Our tutor’s will be on hand throughout the session to guide and support you.
🧶 What You’ll Need to Bring
To make your Christmas bunting, please bring:
- Christmas-themed fabric – A minimum of 1/2m of fabric for the front of your flags.
- Plain fabric – A minimum of 1/2m for the reverse of your bunting.
- 3 metres of cotton tape for joining and hanging your bunting.
- Matching sewing thread.
You’re welcome to bring several different Christmas fabrics if you would like a mixture of patterns and colours or if you would like to make more bunting if you get time too.
Don’t have everything you need? Don’t worry, suitable materials can also be purchased from Sewcute Fabrics on the day.
