At Sew Mindful Crafts, we are passionate about delivering meaningful projects that support our local community through creativity and learning. Our Sew Mindful Crafts Projects provide opportunities for children, adults, and vulnerable individuals to develop skills, build confidence, and connect with others. Below are some of the key projects we are currently delivering.
🌞 Universal Activities Funding – FREE Children’s & Young People’s Workshops
Thanks to funding from Doncaster Council’s Universal Activities Grant, Sew Mindful Crafts is delighted to offer a fantastic programme of FREE creative workshops for children and young people throughout the summer holidays.
Our workshops are available for:
👧 Children aged 5–11 years
🧑 Young people aged 12–19 years (up to 25 years if SEND)
With up to 150 fully funded places available, participants can enjoy a wide range of creative sewing and craft workshops designed to build confidence, encourage creativity and develop valuable new skills in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
Our programme includes activities such as:

✔️ Worry Monsters
✔️ Air Dry Clay Creations
✔️ Button Art
✔️ Button Bracelets
✔️ Fabric Bunting
All materials and equipment are provided, making these workshops the perfect opportunity for children and young people to learn something new, make friends and enjoy a positive, creative experience during the school holidays.

🧠 The Men’s Den – Free Men’s Wellbeing & Social Group
The Men’s Den is a free weekly men’s wellbeing and social group created by Sew Mindful Crafts, providing a welcoming space where men can relax, connect and enjoy a wide variety of activities in a friendly, judgement-free environment.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, improve your mental wellbeing, learn something new or simply enjoy a brew and a chat, The Men’s Den offers something for everyone.
Activities include:
✔️ Pool, darts and board games
✔️ Music, guitars and informal jam sessions
✔️ Podcasts and interesting discussions
✔️ Optional creative projects and practical activities
✔️ Tea, coffee and friendly conversation
✔️ Peer support, social connection and improved wellbeing
There is no pressure to join in with every activity—come along, enjoy the evening at your own pace and become part of a supportive community where everyone is welcome.
The Men’s Den is currently self-funded by Sew Mindful Crafts as we continue our commitment to supporting men’s mental health and reducing loneliness across our community.

Sewing for Wellbeing – Supporting Health Through Creativity
Sewing for Wellbeing is a weekly course designed to support people in Doncaster who live with persistent, long-term, or chronic health conditions. Participants learn a variety of skills, including:
✔️ Using a sewing machine
✔️ Making a bag and patchwork cushion cover
✔️ Upcycling and adjusting clothes
✔️ Using an overlocker
This programme is funded by the Social Isolation Alliance and well Doncaster this provides a safe, social, and therapeutic crafting environment.


Winter Warmth – Helping Doncaster Stay Warm
Our Winter Warmth Project is part of our Sew Mindful Crafts Projects initiative, supporting families and individuals in South Doncaster by providing essential winter warmth kits.
We aim to help 75 people by providing:
✔️ Hats, scarves, and hand warmers
✔️ Essential warmth kits to those in need
✔️ Support through local organisations
We have received funding from Well Doncaster to cover fabric and materials, but we rely on community support to make this project happen. We are working with Doncaster Council and local organisations to ensure these resources reach the right people.
