🧶 Make a Tote Bag Workshop Doncaster – Creative Sewing Class for Teens
Looking for a fun and creative activity for teens in Doncaster? Join our Tote Bag Sewing Workshop — a hands-on class designed for young people aged 12–18, or up to 25 with diagnosed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Thanks to support from Doncaster’s Universal Fund, this friendly sewing session helps teens relax, try something new, and express themselves through colour, fabric, and design. It’s a great way to build confidence in a calm, inclusive, and creative environment.
✂️ Workshop Overview: Learn to Make a Tote Bag
In this 3-hour workshop, teens will sew and personalise their very own fabric tote bag using a sewing machine and a variety of colourful materials. Each participant will:
Learn to use a sewing machine safely and confidently
Cut and pin fabric pieces using simple templates
Sew their own reusable tote bag from scratch
Add creative flair with fabric decorations, appliqué, or patchwork
Take home a handmade bag that’s unique to them
With step-by-step guidance and plenty of creative freedom, every young maker will leave with a practical and personalised tote — and a great sense of accomplishment!
This session supports fine motor skills, confidence, and self-expression. Most importantly, it’s fun, inclusive, and pressure-free.

A selection of colourful fabrics and decorations
Beginner-friendly sewing machines and tools
Simple, easy-to-follow templates and guidance
Use of all equipment and materials
One-to-one and group support from an experienced sewing instructor
Drinks and snacks during short, relaxed breaks
A finished tote bag to take home and show off
❌ What You Need to Bring
Nothing! We supply everything. Simply bring your child and their imagination — we’ll handle the rest. Because we know comfort matters, we make sure the space is warm, clean, and welcoming.

Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Duration: Approx. 3 hours (with short breaks to keep things fun and relaxed)
🎓 Skill Level
No sewing experience? No problem! This class is perfect for total beginners, and we tailor the session to suit all abilities and learning styles. Whether your teen is new to sewing or simply curious, this is a fun, hands-on way to try something creative and practical.
