Description
FREE Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshop – Creative Volunteer Project in Doncaster
Due to the success of our Oesophageal awareness workshop !!!!!!
We’re inviting local volunteers to take part in a meaningful Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshop a creative pilot project delivered in partnership with Well Doncaster and the NHS. This hands-on, arts-based initiative uses fabric and creative art and personal storytelling. It raises awareness of prostate cancer through bold, handmade awareness signs created by you the community.
📍 Why this matters:
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men. However, awareness, early conversations, and understanding remain low. Therefore, this workshop series aims to empower local people to raise awareness creatively. It encourages conversations and helps reduce stigma around men’s health.
🧵 What to Expect at the Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshop
In these free, friendly sessions, you’ll design and make your own prostate cancer awareness sign. You will use a wide range of creative materials, including:
Textile paints
Fabric pens and markers
Fabrics, stencils, brushes, and much more
Each handmade sign will reflect your personal interpretation of themes such as awareness, early detection, support, strength, and hope. Moreover, completed pieces will be displayed in local GP surgeries and community venues, helping to spark conversations and increase visibility around this important health issue.
✅ No art or sewing experience needed, just a willingness to get involved
✅ All materials are provided free of charge
✅ Step-by-step creative guidance is available throughout
