🎨 Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Workshop – Creative Volunteer Project in Doncaster

We’re inviting local volunteers to take part in a powerful Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Workshop – a creative pilot project delivered in partnership with Well Doncaster and the NHS. This hands-on, arts-based initiative uses fabric art and personal storytelling to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer through vibrant, handmade signs created by the community.

📍 Did you know? Rossington and Tickhill currently have the highest rates of oesophageal cancer in Doncaster. Therefore, this workshop series aims to empower local people to respond creatively and raise awareness where it’s needed most.

🧵 What to Expect at the Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Workshop

In these free, friendly sessions, you’ll design and make your own awareness sign using a wide variety of creative materials, such as:

  • Textile paints

  • Fabric pens and markers

  • Fabrics, stencils, brushes, and more

Each sign will reflect your personal interpretation of themes like awareness, hope, prevention, and support. Moreover, these pieces will be displayed in local GP surgeries and community centres, helping to spark important conversations and increase visibility for this vital health issue.

✅ All materials are provided free of charge
✅ Step-by-step creative guidance is available throughout
