This workshop is led by Nicky, an experienced memory keepsake maker with a passion for helping people create meaningful, handmade items.

Over the course of this workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of crafting your own Memory Unicorn or Memory Bear, learning essential skills and techniques along the way.

🧵 Workshop Format & Dates

Saturday 23rd August, 10am – 5pm

Each day includes breaks and plenty of time for learning, support, and creative fun. You’ll leave with a keepsake full of love and lasting memories.

🧵 What You Will Learn

During the course of the workshop, you will:

1. Choose meaningful fabric pieces from your treasured clothing

2. Learn how to stabilise stretchy fabrics using interfacing

3. Use provided templates to cut your unicorn or bear pieces precisely

4. Construct and stuff your keepsake for the perfect shape

5. Attach movable arms and legs so your bear or unicorn can sit

Whether you choose a Memory Bear or Memory Unicorn, you’ll enjoy a relaxed, supportive environment where creativity flows.

🎀 What’s Included in the Workshop

🧵 Materials and Supplies Provided:

• Templates for either a Memory Unicorn or Memory Bear

• 4 x Buttons and wire for jointing

• Pre-cut interfacing for your fabrics

🧵 Tools and Facilities Available:

• Brother sewing machines, rotary cutters, mats, rulers, and scissors

• Left-handed and arthritis-friendly tools (available upon request)

• Self-serve kitchen with free hot and cold drinks

🚫 What You Need to Bring

To complete your Memory Unicorn or Bear, please bring:

• Treasured clothing or fabrics (plus a few extras for flexibility)

• Matching threads

• 500g of toy stuffing

• A small ball of wool or fabric strips for the mane (unicorn only)

• A small piece of felt or fabric for the horn (unicorn only)

• 2 x safety teddy bear eyes (to fit approx. 30cm keepsake)

Optional decorations: Dress net for a tutu, ribbons, flower bows, or clips to embellish your keepsake.
