Do you have treasured clothing just stored away? Whether it be your favourite child’s babygrow, school uniform or a passed loved ones favourite clothing. Why not make it into a beautiful memory bear for yourself or to gift to a loved one.
On this workshop we have a Tutor who specializes in making memory bears and is offering her services and sharing her knowledge that she has developed over the years.
Workshop description: you will choose the best pieces from your items of clothing. If its a stretch fabric you will need to interface this on the workshop, we will show you how to do that to stop the fabric stretching and you will be provided with templates and shown how to cut out your pieces. You will be shown how to construct your bear and how to stuff your bear also attach the arms and legs so that they can be movable, you will spend a fun day creating a beautiful memory bear to treasure. The bear has moveable arms and legs so can be sitting or standing.
we will also have follow up workshops that will also show you how to make clothing for your bear .
Approx size is 30cm standing / 42cm sitting
Included in workshop: The bear templates (to use in class), buttons & wire, fabric for nose. This workshop also includes the use of our new Brother sewing Machines, rotary cutters, cutting mats, rulers, scissors, workshop equipment. If you require left hand scissors or struggle with arthritis please let us know as we have left handed scissors and ones to help with dexterity problems. Hot and cold drinks are available at no extra cost. You can help yourself in our kitchen.
Not included in workshop: Fabric, interfacing, Toy stuffing, teddy eyes.
Requirements: 2 x bear eyes, 400g toy stuffing, medium weight interfacing ( approx half metre ) clothing to make the bear.

Time & Duration: 10am – 4pm approx. 6 hours (inc breaks)
Skill Level : Basic knowledge of using a sewing machine.

Free car parking : We have a large car park to the rear of our building, or you can park straight over the road at Home Bargains. The adjoining store (Sewcute Fabrics) and workshop area has wheelchair access.
