What you’ll learn
During this guided workshop, you will:
Use a rotary cutter safely and accurately, alongside a quilting ruler
How to care for and work with a self-healing cutting board
Measure and cut precise fabric squares to create a striking two-tone block
Create a quilt “sandwich” by correctly layering your top fabric, wadding, and backing
Learn techniques that can be repeated and built upon for future quilting projects
What you’ll make
In this workshop, you’ll have two creative options:
Use your completed two-tone block to make an envelope-back cushion cover, or
Keep your block as your first quilt block, ready to be added to a larger quilt project at a later date
This flexibility allows you to work at your own pace and choose the outcome that best suits your goals.
Requirements
Please bring the following with you:
2 x fat quarters of fabric (for your two-tone design)
Matching sewing thread
18” piece of wadding
- 18″ piece of calico
½ metre of backing fabric ( only if you wish to make the cushion cover )
All specialist equipment, cutting tools, rulers, mats, and sewing machines are provided.
