🧶 Make your own Bunting Doncaster – Creative Sewing Class for Teens
ooking for a fun, hands-on activity for teens in Doncaster? Join our Make Your Own Bunting Workshop — a vibrant sewing class designed for young people aged 12–18, or up to 25 with diagnosed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This creative sewing session is fully funded by Doncaster’s Universal Activities Grant, making it free to attend. It’s a perfect chance for teens to unwind, learn a new skill, and express their unique style through colour, fabric, and design — all in a relaxed, SEND-friendly environment.
✂️ Workshop Overview: Learn to Make your own Bunting
In this 3-hour sewing workshop, young participants will design and stitch their own string of personalised fabric bunting. With step-by-step guidance, they’ll create a beautiful, reusable decoration to take home and display.
Each participant will:
Learn to use a sewing machine safely and confidently
Cut fabric shapes using templates and tailor’s tools
Create bunting flags in different colours and styles
Use appliqué, patchwork, and embellishments to decorate each flag
Sew everything together into a festive string of bunting
Take home their finished creation to keep or gift
Whether it’s rainbow, patterned, themed, or textured, every piece of bunting will be as unique as the teen who made it. This workshop encourages creativity, builds confidence, and develops fine motor skills — all in a friendly, pressure-free setting.

We provide all materials and equipment needed for the session, including:
A wide range of colourful fabrics and decorations
Beginner-friendly sewing machines and tools
Simple templates for cutting and shaping
One-to-one and group support from an experienced sewing tutor
Drinks and snacks during relaxed breaks
A finished string of bunting to take home
❌ What You Need to Bring
Nothing! We supply everything. Simply bring your child and their imagination — we’ll handle the rest. Because we know comfort matters, we make sure the space is warm, clean, and welcoming.

Duration: Approx. 3 hours (with short breaks to keep things fun and relaxed)

No sewing experience? No problem! This class is perfect for total beginners, and we tailor the session to suit all abilities and learning styles. Whether your teen is new to sewing or simply curious, this is a fun, hands-on way to try something creative and practical.
