🎄 About This Festive Placemat Workshop
During this hands-on sewing workshop, you’ll create 2 Christmas placemats ( you can make more if you get time ) using festive fabrics of your choice.
You can choose one Christmas fabric for a coordinated look or mix different patterns and designs to create something completely unique.
This is a lovely introduction to machine sewing for beginners and a great festive project for more experienced stitchers who simply want to enjoy a relaxed few hours of crafting and socialising.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own set of 2 handmade placemats ready to adorn your christmas table or give as a special handmade gift.

Our tutor’s will be on hand throughout the session to guide and support you.
🧶 What You’ll Need to Bring
To make your Christmas placemats, please bring:
- ½ metre of a coordinating or contrasting fabric for backing/border
- Two fat quarters of Christmas fabric for patches (if people want more than 2 designs they can bring more)
- ½ metre of wadding or moderate /heavy interfacing Depending on if they want a thicker or thinner placemats
- Thread
You’re welcome to bring several different Christmas fabrics if you would like a mixture of patterns and colours or if you would like to make more placemats if you get time too.
Don’t have everything you need? Don’t worry, suitable materials can also be purchased from Sewcute Fabrics on the day.
