This relaxed 1½-hour introductory session is completely FREE to attend. It is ideal for anyone interested in our upcoming Silver Clay workshops who would like to find out more before committing to a full practical workshop.
Come along and meet the tutor. You will see examples of finished pieces and learn how Silver Clay can be transformed into beautiful real silver jewellery.
What is Silver Clay?
Silver Clay, also known as Precious Metal Clay (PMC), is an amazing material that can be shaped, textured and designed much like traditional clay. After your design has been completed and fired, it is transformed into a beautiful piece of real silver jewellery.
During our free Silver Clay Open Day, our experienced tutor will introduce you to the material. In addition, they will explain the different stages and techniques involved in creating your own individual silver pieces.
What Will Happen at the Free Open Day?
During the 1½-hour presentation, you will:
- Discover what Silver Clay and Precious Metal Clay (PMC) are
- Learn how Silver Clay is shaped, textured and designed
- Find out how the clay is transformed into a finished silver piece
- See examples of completed Silver Clay jewellery
- Learn about some of the tools and techniques used
- Discover what you could make during our full Silver Clay workshops
- Meet the tutor and have the opportunity to ask questions
Please note: This is an introductory presentation and demonstration rather than a hands-on making workshop. You will not be making a Silver Clay item during this free session.
The purpose of the Open Day is to give you a proper introduction to Silver Clay, see what is involved and decide whether one of our future practical workshops is right for you.

Our Silver Clay Open Day in Doncaster is suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced crafters who would like to explore a new creative skill.
You don’t need any previous experience in jewellery making or working with Silver Clay. Whether you’re simply curious or already looking for a new craft to try, you’re very welcome to come along.
