🧵 Learn the Art of Appliqué – Sewing & Stitching Workshop
Welcome to Learn the Art of Appliqué, a creative and beginner-friendly sewing workshop designed for anyone who would like to learn or improve their decorative stitching skills while building confidence with a sewing machine.
This workshop is delivered at Sew Mindful Crafts in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you are completely new to appliqué or looking to refine your technique, this session offers the perfect opportunity to develop your skills at your own pace.
🪡 What You’ll Be Doing
During this hands-on appliqué workshop, you will be guided step by step through a range of essential techniques. In particular, you will learn how to:
Understand the basics of appliqué and how it is used in sewing and quilting
Prepare and position fabric shapes accurately
Finish appliqué projects using satin stitch and blanket stitch
Stitch neatly around internal and external corners, points, and curves
Improve control and confidence when working with layered fabrics
Create an appliqué design of your own choice, allowing for personal creativity
As a result, you will complete a small finished appliqué piece while gaining skills that can be used in future projects such as quilts, cushions, bags, wall hangings, or garments.
🎯 Skill Level
Basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine is recommended
However, full guidance and support are provided throughout the session, making this workshop suitable for confident beginners and improvers alike

Duration: Approximately 3 hours
This timeframe allows plenty of opportunity to practise techniques while still enjoying a calm and enjoyable creative experience.

Free car parking is available at the rear of the building or directly across the road at Home Bargains
The workshop area and adjoining Sewcute Fabrics shop are wheelchair accessible
In addition, free hot and cold drinks are available from our kitchen throughout the session

A short break is included during the workshop
Therefore, you may wish to bring a light snack or packed lunch if needed
A microwave and fridge are available to use
Finally, a chip shop and other local shops are located close by
