🎶 Music Production & DJ Skills
Starts 11th November | Tuesdays 2–4 PM
Join our 4-week Music Production & DJ Skills Workshop to explore creative music-making and develop practical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Each session will run for 2 hours: the first hour will focus on music production, learning to create beats, loops, and tracks; the second hour will focus on DJing skills, with the flexibility to adapt based on participant interests. These sessions aim to boost confidence, creativity, and wellbeing through music.
📍 When & Where
🗓 Starts: Tuesday 11th November 2025 and runs for 4 weekly sessions (Nov 11th, 18th, 25th, and Dec 2nd)
🕓 Time: 2:00 – 4:00 pm (weekly for 4 weeks)
💷 Cost: £5 per session

Please note: You need to make a booking for each individual date you wish to attend. You do not need to book all sessions to access these classes.

Week 1
Hour 1 – Music Production: Introduction to Music Production

-Role of a producer
-Software setup and navigation
Hour 2 – DJing: Introduction to DJing
-Introduction to DJ culture
-Types of DJs (club, radio, mobile, turntablist)
-Overview of DJ genres and styles
Week 2
Hour 1 – Music Production: Audio & MIDI Basics
-Difference between audio and MIDI
-Recording and editing MIDI
-Using virtual instruments
-Basic beat creation
Hour 2 – DJing: Gear & Software Setup
-DJ controllers, mixers, turntables, headphones
-Introduction to DJ software (Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor, Virtual DJ)
-Setting up your home DJ rig
Week 3
Hour 1 – Music Production: Sound Design Introduction
-Synths vs samplers
-Exploring presets
-Basic synthesis concepts (oscillators, filters, envelopes)
Hour 2 – DJing: Music Library & Organization
-File formats and audio quality
-Organizing tracks by genre, BPM, key
-Creating playlists and crates
Week 4
Hour 1 – Music Production: Building a Simple Track
-Layering drums, bass, and melody
-Arranging a basic loop
-Exporting your first track
Hour 2 – DJing: Beatmatching Basics
-Understanding tempo and BPM
-Manual beatmatching vs sync
-Cueing and headphone monitoring
