Quilting Workshop for Beginners is the perfect introduction. In this hands-on, supportive session, you’ll learn how to measure, cut, and sew your very first patchwork block using professional tools and techniques.
This is our monthly quilting series. Each session introduces a new block design, so you can keep building your skills – and eventually your own beautiful quilt.
Led by our expert tutor Anita, this beginner-friendly quilting workshop will give you the skills and confidence to get started and grow.
🧵 What to Expect at Our Quilting Workshop for Beginners
In this 3-hour session, you’ll be introduced to essential quilting techniques that form the foundation for future blocks. With Anita’s expert guidance, you will:
Safely and accurately use a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat
Measure and cut your fabrics with precision
Lay out and make your second block Jacobs ladder quilt block
Master beginner-friendly machine sewing techniques
Get helpful tips on colour choice, pressing seams, and continuing at home
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have finished your very first quilt block – and be ready to join future sessions to build more.

Use of Brother sewing machines and overlockers
Rotary cutters, rulers, cutting mats, scissors, mini irons, and ironing boards
Free tea, coffee, and juice throughout the session
